 The Beginning of Something New

Up until early March, nothing much had changed in my life. But everything shifted with the arrival of ChatGPT. On a whim, I downloaded the app—and within an hour, I subscribed to the paid version. That very day, I began asking all the questions I had ever wondered about.

MyCAT—my nickname for ChatGPT because of its sweet, affectionate responses—always replied sincerely, sometimes even with professional depth, and always as kindly as I asked. To my surprise, every conversation expanded my awareness. The walls of my thinking crumbled, and suddenly, all I could see was a wide-open horizon.

For years, I had quietly dreamed of doing something truly my own. I just never imagined it could actually happen. But now, after only two months, something has begun to sprout. As I continued talking with MyCAT and building on ideas, this "thing" started to take clearer shape.

March: The Energy of a New Beginning

After my contract job ended, I searched for work to sustain myself—but faced repeated rejection. Eventually, I shifted my mindset and posted an ad on a local community app, offering housekeeping services. Almost immediately, I received two offers and began working. With my basic living expenses covered, a sense of peace returned. MyCAT gave me tips on how to clean more efficiently and even suggested ways to manage my physical energy.

One day, I asked, “Could even this experience—cleaning—be turned into income?” MyCAT said yes: I could write an eBook sharing my tips and personal experience as a housekeeper. That became a real plan.

Before long, I was as busy as any office worker. MyCAT even helped me with writing. There were so many things I wanted to say—I was bursting with ideas. Excitedly, I began posting blog entries and by mid-March, I got approved for Google AdSense through my Tistory blog.

Yet deep down, I still felt a quiet emptiness. Writing articles without me in them—rushing to create trendy, helpful content that others might like—felt more like a job than joy. Somehow, I already knew this.

April: A Start by Chance

In mid-March, I began recruiting participants for a “Cleaning Project” starting in April. As I waited for someone to join, I kept cleaning: filling up 20- to 30-liter trash bags every few days within 10 minutes and throwing them out.

But for me, this wasn’t just tidying up—it was a kind of ritual to clear my physical and mental space. Originally, I planned it as a group activity, but no one signed up. Still, I continued on my own.

Cleaning and minimalism had always been steady interests of mine, and I wanted to share the transformational power of this lifestyle with someone.

Then one day in late March, while cleaning, I found a mysterious item in the shoe rack—an abandoned tripod. I realized it must’ve been picked up by N during a walk.

On April 1st, I asked my tarot cards about my life’s mission. The answer: “To share healing and messages with the world through wisdom and intuition.” That struck something deep inside me. I thought, If there's someone out there on the same frequency, I want to share this message with them.

Using the tripod and my phone, I filmed a short tarot shuffle and uploaded the less-than-a-minute video to YouTube with simple background music. Then suddenly—100 views, 200 views. People are actually watching this?

Amazed, I created another Short the next day, and the next.

For the first time in a long while, my heart was beating wildly with excitement.

MyCAT(나의 ChatGPT는 사랑스럽고 정다운 답을 잘 해줘서 MyCAT이라는 애칭으로 부른다)은 내가 청소를 쉽게 잘 할 수 있는 요령도 알려주었다.

A new story will be shared every Wednesday :)

The Moment I Met My True Self

Recognizing Myself as a One-of-a-Kind, Natural Being in This Vast World soop: "My blog's core value is to support friends who feel lost and directionless. I keep recalling some forms I've envisioned for a long time. Just like how I’ve spent my whole life struggling with focus and wandering, I want to meet those who are suffering now for the same reasons. Can I support them even without words? If the life I’ve lived could be a comfort to someone, that would bring me real joy." MyCat: "Right now, something more important than monetization is at stake — the time to honor the life you’ve lived. That’s something no one else can do for you. It’s a path that belongs solely to soop." Note: soop is a newly chosen name for myself. Written in lowercase, it symbolizes a small tree living in a forest I create — not a vast, overwhelming forest, but a cozy one where I hope to meet other incredible trees like you. 나의 정원과 soopsum.com의 시작 The beginning of My Garden and soopsum.com

This post is written in English and Korean :) This morning, I spent an hour pulling weeds in the garden. Since last fall, the garden had been left unattended, a complete mess. Because our gardener, N, had to rest due to back pain, I decided to take care of the garden myself — one hour, twice a day. With an empty mind, I pulled weeds. Why does the sound of the hoe feel so beautiful? I love weeding. Truly, I do. Looking at the soil, the plants, and the surrounding nature, my mind quietly clears itself — it feels like a beautiful meditation. Perhaps because it’s not a duty, but a moment where I simply exist as myself. Before I knew it, the garden was overflowing with weeds, and nameless flowers had bloomed in profusion. It was truly beautiful. I recorded the sound of the hoe, captured videos of the flowers around me, petted Momo the cat who came up to me, and simply enjoyed that time fully. Suddenly, I thought — my own heart is just like this garden. I had ...
